Mediterranean Sea Salt

All-Natural Hand-Harvested

Sea Salt

Our salt is from the ancient Galia Saltpans, which are a complex system of evaporating pans and water channels located within the Trapani and Paceco Nature Reserves. This environment has been wisely and carefully preserved for centuries by salt workers dating back to the time of the Fenici. The saltpans are the perfect habitat for many life forms and the perfect place to cultivate and harvest one of the best sea salts in the world.

All our salts are Hand-Harvested and All-Natural and while keeping true to the tradition of one of the oldest and simplest activities of this territory,  we also offer new and  interesting “Sea Salt Based Products” to meet your various Salt and seasoning needs.

Additionally, we are proud to offer our All-Natural Mediterranean Sea Salt for industrial and recreational based applications such as salt-water swimming pools and winter-season deicing applications.

More about our Salt…

Our salt is made by the simple evaporation of the sea in the pans and then hand-harvested and dried by the Sicilian sun and winds. This simple process keeps it rich and full of important necessary minerals such as Iodine, Magnesium, Calcium, Zinc and Phosphorous. Our salt products include Whole Sea Salt (Fine and Coarse Grains), Natural “Lavato-Essiccato” (Naturally Washed and Dried) Sea Salt, Sea Salt Tablets and more.

A little about Trapani

Located at the North-West point of Sicily, Trapani is full of special characteristics for producing one of the world’s finest salts. One of nature’s most significant contributions is the convergence of the major three “Sea Winds” coming from the Tyrrhenian Sea (North and West) and the Mediterranean Sea (South). Due to its geographic location on the western point of Sicily’s triangle, Trapani’s three “Sea Winds” allow the salt to dry almost entirely by sea air. This helps to keep its natural humidity through the process of drying and also helps to maintain is full flavor.
